METHOD FOR PREPARING A CARBOXYLIC ACID USING NITRILASE RMN2

PURPOSE: A novel nitrilase, RMN2, is provided to ensure specificity to various substrates and to enable carboxylic acid biosynthesis with high efficiency. CONSTITUTION: A method for preparing carboxylic acid comprises: a step of preparieng nitrilase RMN2 denoted by an amino acid sequence of sequence number 3 or a biocatalyst composition containing nitrilase RMN2; and a step of reacting nitrilase RMN2 or the biocatalyst composition. The biocatalyst composition includes cells containing nitrilase RMN2 or a cell culture or cell crushed material thereof. The nitrile substrate is mandelonitrile.
