PURPOSE: A pickup device and a pick-up method of a light emitting device chip are provided to minimize contamination of a pad area on a light emitting device chip by preventing the contamination of a collet absorbing part which is being transferred to a pad area on the light emitting device chip. CONSTITUTION: A collet(110) absorbing and transferring a light emitting device chip(12) is arranged on a wafer holder(10). The collet includes an absorbing part(111) for adsorbing the light emitting device chip on an adsorption surface. A vacuum device(120) controls the suction of air of the absorbing part according to a control part(130). A driving part(140) moves a location of the collet according to the control part. A stage is arranged on a lower portion of the wafer holder.
