<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a metamaterial in which the resonance wavelength is shortened without further micronizing a unit lattice when constituting a metamaterial in which the unit lattice is arrayed in matrix. <P>SOLUTION: In the metamaterial, a unit lattice is arrayed in two dimension on a flat plane, for stacking. The unit lattice comprises a metal cross layer and a dielectric layer. The metal cross layer includes a first post part along a first axis in a plane and a second post part along a second axis which crosses with the first axis, on the same plane with the first axis. A cross structure including an intersection region and a non-intersection region provided by them is provided. The dielectric layer is formed with a first dielectric part and a second dielectric part having a smaller refractive index than the former on the same plane. The first dielectric part is arranged on the upper layer side or a lower layer side of the metal cross layer constituting the unit lattice containing at least a part of the intersection region. The second dielectric part is arranged on the upper layer side or the lower layer side of the metal cross layer constituting the unit lattice containing at least a part of the non-intersection region. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
