<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a power line communication device and a noise detection method, capable of detecting periodically generated noise without spreading the width of a dynamic range of an A/D converter. <P>SOLUTION: The power line communication device related to the invention includes: a power detection section 16 for detecting the power of a communication slot used for transmitting and receiving data through a power line 11; a transmission line estimation section 27 for estimating a transmission line state by using a difference between average power within a prescribed period of an unused slot not allocated to transmit and receive data among the communication slots and the instantaneous power of the unused slot; and a periodicity determination section 30 for detecting the periodically generated noise by using the estimated transmission line state and the AC cycle of the power line 11. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
