<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image processing system and an image processing method capable of suppressing an increase of a circuit size. <P>SOLUTION: The image processing system has: a tone processing system 113 which carries out the half-tone processing of multi-value CMYK image data with dither data; a dither code data storing system 107 which stores dither code data encoded from the dither data; a decoding system 108 which reads and decodes the dither code data stored in the dither code data storing system 107 by a line; and a line memory 109 which stores the dither data by the line decoded by the decoding system 108.
