<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To secure the responsivity of a valve timing control. <P>SOLUTION: A valve timing control apparatus 1 includes a linear solenoid 70 having: a coil 73 that generates a magnetic flux by being supplied with electricity; an output shaft 75 that linearly reciprocates a spool 68 of a control valve 60; a casing 71 defining an internal chamber 712 into which a working fluid flows from the inside of a sleeve 66 of the control valve 60 and a discharge port 716 from which the working fluid is discharged out of the internal chamber 712; a needle 78 that reciprocates integrally with the output shaft 75; a pair of cylindrical stators 76, 77 opposing with each other through an air gap AG in an axis direction, the pair of stators 76, 77 and the needle 78 forming a magnetic circuit through which the magnetic flux generated by the coil 73 passes to drive the needle 78 to reciprocate on an inner circumference side; and a cylindrical spacer 79 fitting with an outer circumference side of the pair of stators 76, 77 to restrict a short circuit from being generated in the magnetic circuit between the pair of stators 76, 77, the air gap AG being located on an inner circumference side of the spacer, wherein the spacer defines a discharge passage 792 that connects the air gap to the discharge port 716. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
