<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To allow a user to set conditions for image formation without carrying out a cumbersome operation. <P>SOLUTION: An image forming device includes: voltage-across-terminal detection means for detecting a voltage across terminals of a lift motor; paper bundle thickness detection means for detecting the thickness of a bundle of recording paper in a paper feed casette; paper thickness detection means for detecting the thickness of one piece of recording paper; paper size detection means for detecting the size of the recording paper; and paper type detection means that calculates the weight of the bundle of the recording paper on the basis of the voltage across terminals, calculates the weight of the recording paper per unit area on the basis of the weight of the bundle of the recording paper, the thickness of the bundle of the recording paper, the thickness of one piece of recording paper and the size of the recording paper, to detect the type of the recording paper on the basis of the weight of the recording paper per unit area. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
