<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an object detection device capable of accurately detecting an object by optimizing a parameter of an image processing filter that is used when detecting an object by multiple resolution analysis without requiring designation of an optimal parameter by an operator. <P>SOLUTION: An object detection device includes: a candidate filter storage section for storing a candidate filter; a candidate filter scanning section for scanning each resolution image of learning sample images having multiple resolution with the candidate filter; a competitive learning section for performing competitive learning on the scan results of each resolution image of the learning sample image using the scan results by the candidate filter scanning section; an optimum filter determination section for determining the candidate filter as an optimum filter for a resolution of the learning sample image, which shows an extreme value in the results of the competitive learning by the competitive learning section; and an object detection section for detecting an object included in target object images having multiple resolution by processing the target object image with the optimum filter. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
