<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cleaning device and a cleaning method of a liquid ejection head for removing foreign matters adhering to the surface with a liquid discharge port of the liquid ejection head formed thereon, while reliably preventing reduction in liquid-repellent effect of the surface with the liquid discharge port formed thereon, and an image forming system including the liquid ejection head and the cleaning device. <P>SOLUTION: The cleaning device 100 includes a cleaning roller 102 having an outer peripheral surface which is close to and faces the surface of the nozzle plate of an ink ejection head 33, and an ink feed means 104 discharging ink in the ink ejection head 33. Foreign matters adhering to the nozzle plate are removed by discharging ink out of the ink ejection head 33 into a gap between the outer peripheral surface of the cleaning roller 102 and the surface of the nozzle plate, and rotating the cleaning roller 102. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
