摘要 PURPOSE: A gear shift control device for an electric vehicle and a control method thereof are provided to selectively connect a motor and first and second reducers by rotating the motor for gear shift of a gear shift means. CONSTITUTION: First and second reducers(11,12) decelerate the rotation speed of an electric motor with different deceleration ratios. A gear shift means(20) selectively connects the electric motor to the first and second reducers. A power supply unit(30) supplies supplied power from a battery(1) to the gear shift means. A communication unit(40) communicates with a vehicle control unit(2) of an electric vehicle. A controller(50) controls the driving of the gear shift means based on a gear shift command received from the vehicle control unit through the communication unit.
