PURPOSE: A sleep aid device and a method therefor are provided to enable a user to take a sound sleep by making brain waves suitable for a sound sleep. CONSTITUTION: A sleep aid device comprises a brain wave measuring unit(110), a memory unit(120), a brain wave comparison unit(130), a stimulus generating unit(140), a controller(150), and a user interface(160). The brain wave measuring unit is worn on the body of a user and measures the sleep brain wave of the user. The memory unit stores standard brain wave pattern. The brain wave comparison unit compares the standard brain wave pattern with the measured sleep brain wave of the user. The stimulus generating unit delivers vibration to the head of the user. The controller controls the stimulus generating unit. The user interface provides sleep brain wave of the user to the user.
