PURPOSE: A display device and a manufacturing method thereof are provided to reduce the frequency of using a diffraction mask and a slit mask, thereby simplifying manufacturing processes. CONSTITUTION: A semiconductor pattern is overlapped with a gate electrode on a first insulating layer. A source electrode(SE) and a drain electrode(DE) are separated from each other on a semiconductor pattern. A pixel electrode(PE) covers the drain electrode. The pixel electrode is formed on the first insulating layer. The pixel electrode forms an electric field with a common electrode.
