<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress deterioration in vehicle traveling safety even when a throttle opening abnormality occurs that a mechanical throttle valve is prevented from closing and remains open against a driver's intention in a vehicle traveling state. <P>SOLUTION: An engine 10 includes a mechanical throttle valve 13. If any throttle opening abnormality is detected in a vehicle traveling state, an ECU 40 stops the combustion of the engine 10, resumes the combustion of the engine 10 if the engine rotation speed is lower than a first determination value after the combustion of the engine is stopped in the vehicle traveling state, and also stops the combustion of the engine 10 if the engine rotation speed is higher than a second determination value after the combustion of the engine is resumed. Particularly, when the vehicle speed is reduced due to the stop of the combustion of the engine, a separation amount between the first determination value and the second determination value decreases along with a decrease in vehicle speed. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
