<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electric power steering system capable of maintaining the effect of suppressing a deterioration in steering feeling, over a long period. <P>SOLUTION: This electric power steering system includes a steering shaft, an electric motor, a worm shaft 41 that is attached to an output shaft of the electric motor, and a worm wheel 42 that is rotated by meshing with the worm shaft 41. A through-hole 44A axially passing through the worm wheel 42 is formed in the worm wheel 42. The steering shaft includes a first shaft 11A, a second shaft 11B, and a coupling member 6 that couples the first and second shafts 11A and 11B together in the state of being inserted into the through-hole 44A. The through-hole 44A is formed in a shape in which the coupling member 6 can relatively move in the circumferential direction of the worm wheel 42.
