METHOD FOR SEPARATING SELENIUM

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for separating selenium in high efficiency from a selenium-containing material generating in a nonferrous metal smelting process.

SOLUTION: The selenium separation method comprises: a leaching step of leaching the selenium-containing material generated in a nonferrous metal smelting process by using an oxidizing gas and/or a mineral acid; a solvent treatment step of treating the leached liquid obtained by the leaching step with a solvent; a reduction reaction step of subjecting the selenium-containing liquid obtained by the solvent treatment step to reduction reaction; and a solid-liquid separation step of separating selenium from the selenium-containing liquid obtained by the reduction reaction step by solid-liquid separation treatment, wherein a surfactant is added in the reduction reaction step to the selenium-containing liquid obtained by the solvent treatment step.
