The device has a humidity sensor (21) measuring humidity of biomass fuel, and a heat meter (22) measuring real power of a boiler (4). A humidity regulator (23) i.e. programmable automation, integrates values measured by the sensor and the meter for regulating values of combustion parameters e.g. volume flow of the fuel introduced into the boiler and/or mobile grids (6) of a furnace (5), primary air flow of primary air fan (8) and an air flow of secondary air fan (9) so as to ensure an optimal combustion of the boiler for a set point power of the boiler and irrespective of the humidity. An independent claim is also included for a method of regulating combustion of a biomass fuel heating system.
