PURPOSE: A lithium secondary battery is provide to improve energy density while satisfying power level requirements for electric and hybrid electric vehicles. CONSTITUTION: A lithium secondary battery comprises: a positive electrode which comprises a first positive electrode active material with a layered structure and a second positive electrode active material with a spinel structure as positive electrode active materials, and for which the content of the first positive electrode active material is 40-100 weight%; a negative electrode which comprises crystalline graphite with a specific area to capacity of 0.005-0.013 m^2/mAh as a negative electrode active material; and a separator. The crystalline graphite is one selected from a first graphite of which surface area to capacity is 0.007-0.011 or a second graphite of which surface area to capacity is 0.005-0.013, or a mixture thereof. |
