<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform reliable paper alignment without degrading productivity even when curled paper is stacked or Z-folded paper is stacked. <P>SOLUTION: The paper aligning device includes: an alignment means for aligning the direction orthogonal to a conveying direction of the paper stacked on a stacking means on which the conveyed paper is stacked; and a rotating means for rotating the alignment means in a direction perpendicular to a paper surface, and moving it to an aligning position and a retracted position. The alignment means includes first and second width-direction aligning members. In the paper aligning device, when the first width-direction aligning member is rotated in the direction perpendicular to the paper surface by the rotating means, and moved to the aligning position or the retracted position, the second width-direction aligning member moves following the rotation of the first width-direction aligning member, and when the first width-direction aligning member is located at the aligning position, the second width-direction aligning member is located at a position in contact with a lower limit position of a preset moving range or a position in contact with the paper surface, and when the first width-direction aligning member is located at the retracted position, the second width-direction aligning member is located at an upper limit position of the preset moving range. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
