PURPOSE: A portable terminal and an image display method are provided to watch an image through a display device and control the image with the portable terminal and confirm additional information of the image, thereby increasing user convenience. CONSTITUTION: A touch screen receives user input and displays a replay information display area. When a portable terminal is connected to a display device(20) through a cable(30), a control unit transmits information displayed on the touch screen to the display device and displays the same information in the touch screen on the portable terminal and a display unit of the display device. When a replay request for an image file is received, the control unit displays the replay information display area on the touch screen in the portable terminal. The control unit transmits image and audio information of the image file to the display device through the cable.
