PURPOSE: A tunnel excavation method for the construction of closely spaced parallel tunnels is provided to implement a tunnel with structural safety without cutting the soil from the original ground and to minimize the damages for the original ground. CONSTITUTION: A tunnel excavation method for the construction of closely spaced parallel tunnels is composed of the following steps of: a step of installing multiple reinforcements(20) for the upper part of a tunnel and a pillar part reinforcement(25) on the upper part of a pillar part formed in between the upper parts of tunnels and tunnels in the direction of the tunnels; a step of installing a gate on the starting point of the tunnel; a step of excavating a leading tunnel(1a) at a constant depth along a planned excavation line; a step of installing a pillar part support beam(40) to be penetrated into the intended following tunnel(1b); a step of installing a tunnel support beam(50a) on the excavated surface of the leading tunnel and of connecting the tunnel support to the pillar part support; a step of excavating the following tunnel with the depth corresponding to the depth of the leading tunnel; and a step of installing the tunnel support beam and of connecting the tunnel support with the pillar part support beam extended from the leading tunnel.
