<p>PURPOSE: An image display method and an apparatus thereof are provided to enable a viewer to selectively watch a two-dimensional or a three-dimensional service for a channel or content. CONSTITUTION: An image display apparatus outputs and generates a three-dimensional image(S601). When a plurality of labors is selected, each viewer selects a watching mode through an UI(User Interface)(S620,S603). The image display apparatus generates synchronization information for each viewer based on the set watching mode and transmits the synchronization information to glasses through an IR(Infrared) emitter(S604). Each viewer watches the three-dimensional image outputted based on the synchronization information(S605).
