PURPOSE: A video advertisement providing method in a digital multimedia broadcasting(DMB) shadow area and a system thereof are provided to play an advertisement video during the time when DMB is not broadcasted due to the DMB shadow area, thereby eliminating boredom of a DMB viewer. CONSTITUTION: When a DMB signal is not received in a mobile terminal during idle time, a DMB signal check unit generates a DMB null signal. The DMB signal check unit transmits the DMB null signal to a video play unit. The video play unit plays an advertisement video(12) on a screen(12) of the mobile terminal following the reception of the DMB null signal.
