PURPOSE: An anchor with an improved structure for an expansion joint device and a construction method thereof are provided to increase a binding power between a steel reinforcement and the anchor for an expansion joint device since an up-and-down movement limiting unit, a side-to-side movement limiting unit and an accommodation groove are provided for the anchor for the expansion joint device. CONSTITUTION: An anchor with an improved structure for an expansion joint device includes an anchor connection unit(100) and an anchor body(300). The anchor connection unit is connected to the support stand of an expansion joint device. The anchor body is extended from the anchor connection unit in a longitudinal direction of a bridge and comprises a steel reinforcement accommodation unit(310). The steel reinforcement accommodation unit has an opening(311) for the entry of a steel reinforcement and a steel reinforcement accommodation groove(313) and is surrounded by an up-and-down movement limiting unit(330) restricting the vertical movement of the steel reinforcement and a side-to-side movement limiting unit restricting the horizontal movement of the steel reinforcement(350).
