<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve such problems that a device for removing astringents coats or fine power is suggested, such as a removal device just like a fanning mill or a device for removing by separating by winding coffee materials crushed by a coffee mill while the materials fall in a passage, since astringent coats, called chaff, and finely crushed fine power are left when roasted coffee beans are crushed by the coffee mill, causing a harsh taste or unpleasant taste, however, these devices can not completely remove the astringent coats or fine power, and are not put to practical use. <P>SOLUTION: The crushed coffee beans are put into a cylindrical container whose upper part is cylindrical, lower part is conical, and bottom part is equipped with a stirring device. A lid with an exhaust tube and a filter is fixed to the cylindrical container. The air pressured from an air supply opening at the upper part of the cylindrical container by an air supply blower sucks the relatively light small astringent coats or fine power mixed in the crushed coffee beans from the lower part of the exhaust tube to separate them from the relatively heavy crushed coffee beans. The separated astringent coats or fine power pass through the exhaust tube, and are caught at the filter part.
