USE OF TRIS(2-HYDROXYPHENYL)METHANE DERIVATIVES FOR TERTIARY MINERAL OIL PRODUCTION

An improved yield of petroleum is possible with a method for petroleum production in which an aqueous formulation containing tris-(2-hydroxyphenyl)methane derivatives of general formula (I) is pressed through an injection borehole into a petroleum deposit and the crude oil is removed from the deposit through a production borehole, wherein the radicals R1, R2 and R in formula (I) have the following meanings: R, independently of one another, 1 to 2 hydrocarbon radicals per phenyl ring; R1 preferably H or OH; R2 radicals of general formula (III) independently of one another, -(R5-O-) n-R6-X (III) where n stands for a number from 1-50; and wherein the radicals R5 are groups R7, R6 is a single bond or an alkylene group with 1 to 10 carbon atoms, X is H or an acidic terminal group, and R10 is e.g. a C1-C6 hydrocarbon radical.
