<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a head cleaning device capable of quickly cleaning a head ejecting a recording liquid, without using a member abutting on the head, and to provide an inkjet system image forming apparatus including the cleaning device and forming an image with the recording liquid ejected from the head. <P>SOLUTION: The head cleaning device includes: a member 37 to which the recording liquid ejected from heads 61Y, 61M, 61C, and 61BK (hereinafter referred to as a head 61) including a nozzle member having an ejection nozzle for the recording liquid is applied; a detection means 40 which detects the amount of current flowing between the nozzle member and the member 37 by the application of a voltage between the nozzle member and the member 37; and a control means 40 which controls the speed of the relative movement between the member 37 and the head 61, based on the amount of current detected by the detection means 40, when the member 37 and the head 61 are relatively moved to clean the nozzle member by the abutment of the recording liquid applied to the member 37 on the nozzle member. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
