#CMT# #/CMT# The freewheel (1) has a cage (3) provided adjacent to an outer ring (2), which is provided with clamping ramps. Clamping rollers (9) are arranged in the cage. Spring elements (10) i.e. leaf springs (11) are arranged at the cage, and spring-load the rollers against the ramps. A load torque is transferred from the rollers to the ring in a load rotation direction. A freewheel function is enabled in a freewheel rotation direction. The cage is rotated relative to the ring in the load rotation direction starting from an overload rotational torque. The freewheel ensures that an elasticity of the ring and a resistance of the clamping rollers to be matched with each other such that the clamping rollers roll the clamping ramps in the overload rotational torque. The freewheel allows a narrow point formed by the clamping ramp to be elastically expanded to a diameter of the clamping roller, thus displacing the clamping rollers around the clamping ramps in a circumferential direction, and avoiding jamming of the clamping roller during occurrence of the overload rotational torque.
