A connector 10 comprising a first component 12 mated with a second component 14, a groove 18 located in or on the first component and a pair of grooves 20, 22 located in or on the second component; the groove 18 having at least one of a bottom wall 34 and two side walls 30, 32; the pair of grooves 20, 22 comprises a first groove 20 having a first depth and a second groove 22 having a second depth, which differs from the first depth; a canted coil spring 16 positioned in the first groove 20 and the groove 18 and loaded along its major axis; and wherein a stop feature 29 prevents the first component 12 from moving relative to the second component 14 to prevent the canted coil spring 16 from moving to the second groove 22 and the groove 18.
