The cooking hob has first display unit (4) for selectively displaying a per-minute or per-second counter. A first operating element (13) is adapted to control the display of per-minute or per-second counter in response to first user input. A second operating element (14) is adapted to adjust a value of the per-minute or per-second counter in response to a second user input.
