USES OF INTERLEUKIN-22(IL-22) IN TREATING AND PREVENTING NERVE DAMAGE DISEASES OR NEURODEGENERATIVE DISEASES

Disclosed in the present invention are uses of Interleukin-22(IL-22) in treating and preventing nerve damage diseases or neurodegenerative diseases. In particular, disclosed in the present invention are the following uses of IL-22 or IL-22 dimers: (1) protecting neurons to recover damaged nerve functions after ischemic neurological damage in an animal; (2) capable of inhibiting losses of nigra dopaminergic neurons significantly to improve functions of the dopaminergic neurons and reduce the apoptosis of neuron cells in the hippocampus area, thus treating the neurodegenerative diseases.
