<p>In data transport over a network using User Datagram Protocol (UDP) for transferring a stream of packets from a transmitter to a receiver, a system for correcting errors in reception, comprising: one or more probing devices (probes) for probing the media/transport stream and for sending information relating to the stream along; one or more detection devices (detectors) for receiving the information and the transmitted packets and for taking action to correct for the errors in reception, wherein the errors in reception include re-ordering of packets and/or lost packets, wherein the information being sent along includes a list of transport packets in the UDP packet, wherein the information is used to detect lost or re-ordered packets, and wherein the detector further includes means for network jitter reduction or elimination.</p> |
