PURPOSE: A terminal device, a display device, a contents playing method using the display device, and a contents playing method on the display device by using the terminal device are provided to play contents by using an arbitrary display device as a device capable of being coupled with a terminal device of a user through a cloud service while protecting personal information of the user. CONSTITUTION: A first communications part (132) receives an authentication notifying message notifying the completion of authenticating a display device (130) from a terminal device (120). If the authentication notifying message is received, a second communications part (133) receives contents from a cloud server (110) connected with the terminal device. A display part (131) displays the received contents for a user by playing the contents. If the authentication notifying message is received, the first communications part transmits identification information of the display device to the terminal device, and the second communications part transmits the identification information of the display device to the cloud server.
