The tower head of a wind power plant has a generator driven through the rotor of the plant without the interposing of a transmission, and units for the directing of a cooling medium flow extracting waste heat from the generator. The stator packet (12) of the generator has one or more passages guiding the cooling medium flow through the stator packet. As a passage a slot (18) extends through the stator packet in the circumferential direction and radially to the rotational axis (8) of the rotor (11), and opening an air gap between the stator packet and rotor.
