PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a switching device capable of reducing a load of multiplex transmission.SOLUTION: A conventional edge device is constituted by a switching device and a transmission device. The switching device determines in which ODU an L2 packet from a client side device is to be housed according to an ID, and outputs the L2 packet to an output port corresponding to the ODU. The transmission device receives the L2 packet from an input port corresponding to the output port of the switching device one by one, transparent-maps the corresponding ODU, and transmits signals using an ODU connection. |
