PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a phosphor reaching a high brightness in a 600-680 nm region, and a light emitting device having a high brightness.SOLUTION: A phosphor includes compositions containing substances represented by a compositional formula of formula (1): CaSrM-A-B-O-N:Eu, where M is selected from beryllium and zinc; A is selected from aluminum, gallium, indium, scandium, yttrium, lanthanum, gadolinium, and lutetium; B is selected from silicon, germanium, tin, titanium, zirconium, and hafnium; 0<p<1; 0<q<1; 0≤m<1; 0≤t≤0.3; 0.00001≤r≤0.1; a=1; 0.8≤b≤1.2; and 2.7≤n≤3.1.The phosphor also contains 20-1,500 ppm of magnesium and/or 40-5,000 ppm of barium. The proportion of each of the elements of the phosphors is adjusted, and the concentrations of magnesium and barium composing the phosphors is controlled within a definite range. |
