An operation section (18) which forms a stent delivery system (10) is provided with a first rotation roller (40) having a first gear (38) and also with a second rotation roller (44) having a second gear (42). The first gear (38) is meshed with the first tooth section (56) of a rack member (36), and the second gear (42) is meshed with the second tooth section (58) of the rack member (36). The first gear (38) is formed to have a greater diameter than the second gear (42). When releasing a stent (16), the first rotation roller (40) of the operation section (18) is rotated to cause, through the rack member (36), the distal end of an outer tube body (14) to approach the stent (16), and then the second rotation roller (44) is rotated to move the outer tube body (14) to the base end side at a lower speed than when the first rotation roller (40) is rotated. |
