PURPOSE: A muffler for an exhaust pipe in an engine of a ship is provided that a plurality of sound absorbing materials is filled as a cover and cover plate are separated from an outer case. CONSTITUTION: A muffler for an exhaust pipe in an engine of a ship comprises an outer case(10), a round punched plate (20), a plurality of sound absorbing units (30), a ring shaped cover plate (40), and a cover (50). The punched plate is welded on the lower part of the outer case by a fixing plate (12), and separated from the outer case. The sound absorbing units are filled with sound absorbing materials, and the outer surface is covered with high heat resistant fibre. The sound absorbing units are inserted between the punched plate and the outer case. The cover plate is coupled to the upper part of the outer case to prevent the sound absorbing units from being separated. The cover is coupled to the upper part of the outer case by bolts, and connected to a pipe near the muffler. The lower part of the outer case is fixed by the fixing plate, and the upper part of the outer case is detachably coupled to the cover plate and cover by the bolts.
