The hydraulic axial piston machine has a pendulum ball (4), which is swiveled by a setting piston (14) of an adjusting unit (2). The pendulum ball is pressurized with a system pressure in a direction and in the opposite direction with certain pressure set by a valve piston (28) that is adjustable by a proportional magnet (30). The setting piston is pressurized with a spring force of a feedback spring (50) supported on the valve piston. A lever mechanism (42) is provided for transferring a displacement path between the proportional magnet and the feedback spring.
