The housing (10) has a flexible connecting part (12) connected with a rigid frame-like fixing part (11) and a rigid base part (13) and arranged between the fixing part and the base part. The flexible connecting part is partly made of fabric, non-woven fabric, knitted fabrics, knotted fabric, net and/or film. One of the parts is made of metal and/or plastic. The flexible connecting part is connected with the fixing part and/or the base part in a form-fit, force-fit and/or material-fit manner. The flexible connecting part comprises a reinforcement part (14) at a front-sided edge. An independent claim is also included for a method for manufacturing an airbag housing.
