The motor vehicle hood (10) has a free edge area of an inner layer that is attached to a recess, where the free edge area is connected with a window, particularly a rear window (14) by a polyurethane-bead element. The free edge area is also connected to an edge of an outer layer. The window is arranged inside the recess of the outer layer. The free edge area of the continuous inner layer is cohesively connected to the other sections of the inner layer. The inner layer is provided as a damping material. The wall thickness of the inner layer is greater than the wall thickness of the outer layer. An independent claim is included for a method for manufacturing a motor vehicle roof.
