PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a particle characteristics detection apparatus that can achieve high resolution detection at a forward angle and detection at large forward and backward angles by the same hardware configuration without using a small detection element or a long optical path.SOLUTION: The particle characteristics detection apparatus comprises: means for radiating a first spatial coherent light beam having a first wavelength; means for radiating a second spatial coherent light beam having a second wavelength; means for orienting at least one of the first and second light beams to be radiated along the same optical axis; means for causing a light beam oriented in a first direction to interact with a sample including a plurality of particles in the optical axis to generate scattered light; means for causing a light beam oriented in a second direction to interact with the sample in the optical axis to further generate scattered light; and means for detecting the scattered light from the first and second light beams. |
