PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an emergency lighting apparatus that is compact in size and provides emergency lighting at night for a few days.SOLUTION: An emergency lighting apparatus comprises a light modulating and power source controlling unit 15 that causes an LED 19 to light up at night by controlling an AC drive LED power source circuit 18 in accordance with a change in brightness around the area indicated by a detection signal output from a light sensor 14 when a detection signal output from an AC power source detection circuit 11 indicates that power is being supplied from an AC power source 100. When the detection signal from the AC power source detection circuit 11 indicates power outage of the AC power source 100, the light modulating and power source controlling unit 15 controls a DC drive LED power source circuit 17 in accordance with a detection signal from the light sensor 14 to cause an LED 20 to light up using a storage battery 13 during the night when electricity is off, and finds out, based on a change in brightness of the area indicated by a detection signal from the light sensor 14, how many days the AC power source 100 has been continuously out of power, thereby reducing consumption of power from the storage battery 13 when power has been continuously cut for two days or more to cause the LED 20 to light up. |
