METHYLOBACTERIUM SPP. CBMB15 OR CBMB27 STRAIN HAVING CONTROLLING ACTIVITY AGAINST BACTERIAL WILT DISEASE OF TOMATO AND USES THEREOF

PURPOSE: A method for preventing bacterial wilt disease in tomatoes using Methylobacterium spp. CBMB15 or CBMB27 is provided to promote the growth of the crops and to enhance productivity without environmental pollution and toxicity to human body, caused by agrochemicals. CONSTITUTION: Methylobacterium sp. CBMB15 (KACC 91708P) prevents bacterial wilt disease in tomatoes. Methylobacterium phyllosphaerae] sp. CBMB27 (KACC 91461P) prevents bacterial wilt disease in tomatoes. A composition for preventing bacterial wilt disease contains the strain or a culture liquid thereof as an active ingredient. Pathogen causing bacterial wilt disease in tomatoes is Ralstonia solanacearum. A method for preventing bacterial wilt disease comprises the step of spraying effective amount of Methylobacterium sp. CBMB15 or CBMB27 to plants or soil.
