The sensor device (120) has an impulse sensor (121) which is arranged to a portion (112) of a shaft (110), an another impulse sensor (122) which is arranged torque-decoupled portion (114) of the shaft, and a detecting unit (124) that is formed to detect an impulse from the former impulse sensor and another impulse from the latter impulse sensor during a rotational movement of the shaft. The former impulse sensor and the latter impulse sensor are magnetic impulse sensors, where the detecting unit detects the magnetic impulse. Independent claims are included for the following: (1) a drive system with a joint; and (2) a method for determining a rotational characteristic of a rotatable shaft.
