<p>A method for securing data, the method comprising: generating with a random number generator a Smart-Card Security Table (SCST) comprising a plurality of random byte keys; storing the SCST and a card issuer identifier in a first device, being an active device enabled to process cards; storing in a second device, being a passive device, a respective device identifier; the first device receiving a random number challenge from the second device and retrieving characters in the SCST by using each character of the random number challenge as a respective look up key; the first device generating a one-time code card function (CCF) argument (implicit vector) security key from the characters retrieved by the first device from the SCST; the first device obfuscating the data by XOR-ing the data with the CCF security key; and the first device outputting the obfuscated data and the random number (in clear) challenge.</p> |
