PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a polyimide film manufacturing method that can produce a stretched polyimide film in good productivity.SOLUTION: A polyimide film manufacturing method includes a casting step in which a polyimide precursor solution is cast on a support and dried to form a self-supporting film having a self-supporting property, a stretching step in which the self-supporting film is peeled off from the support and stretched in a carrying direction while being heated at a temperature rise speed of 50-300°C/min to make the temperature of the self-supporting film reach 100-150°C to obtain a stretched film, and a curing step in which the stretched film is heat-treated while both end parts in the width direction thereof are held to imidate the stretched film.
