PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a data storage device and method that enable improvement of read/write performance even when free storage capacities of a plurality of HDDs composing a disk array are different from each other.SOLUTION: A bit rate of a content to be written is determined, HDDs whose number corresponds to the bit rate are selected from among a plurality of storage units as selected HDDs, and a plurality of data pieces obtained by dividing the content are written only in the selected HDDs. |
