The image erasing apparatus further comprises a second heating transporting member arranged downstream from the first heating transporting member, the second heating transporting member including a second heating member and a second pressing member that forms a second nip with the second heating member. In the image erasing apparatus, the recording medium is transported from the first heating transport member in an exit direction different from a direction of insertion into the first nip, and the second heating transporting member is arranged at a position such that the second nip is located in the exit direction.
