PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a manufacturing method of a polarizer having a thickness of 10 μm or less by applying at least a dyeing step and a drawing step to a laminate including a polyvinyl alcohol-based resin layer formed on a thermoplastic resin substrate, and in which characteristics (single body transmittance and polarization degree) of the polarizer can be satisfied even when a dyeing bath of a high-density dichroic substance is used in the dyeing step.SOLUTION: A manufacturing method of a polarizer having a thickness of 10 μm or less includes applying at least a dyeing step and a drawing step to a laminate including a polyvinyl alcohol-based resin layer formed on a thermoplastic resin substrate. In at least one step after the dyeing step, processing is performed with a processing bath containing at least one water-soluble antioxidant.
