PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a mechanical pencil that can write with the substantially same line width at all times since a writing lead is gradually rotated and driven in one direction when receiving writing pressure, and that can deliver the writing lead in a writing attitude without switching a barrel cylinder.SOLUTION: A mechanical pencil includes a rotary driving mechanism 29 that rotates and drives a rotary cam 40 in one direction, following axial backward movement by writing pressure received by the writing lead L gripped by a ball chuck 9 and axial forward movement by release of the writing pressure, and transmits rotary movement of the rotary cam to the writing lead. A tip end guide member 3 of the writing lead that relatively moves in the axial direction with respect to the ball chuck 9, and includes a delivery part of the writing lead is provided with a holding chuck 5 that slides with the writing lead. A finger touching member 7 that moves in the axial direction in an integral manner with the tip end guide member is arranged outside of a mouth end member 2 to surround the mouth end member 2. |
